TUTOR
How I can help:
-
I work with students on topic development, tone, voice, hooks and message. I also assist with individual college supplements.
-
Students often need help setting deadlines, creating checklists and using calendars, all with accountability.
-
Many students do not know how to study. I teach study methods for tests and quizzes across subject areas.
-
I help students write essays, research papers, fiction, poetry, as well as paragraphs and short response homeworks. The focus is on structure, word choice, grammar and clarity.
-
Reading in the upper grades involves helping students focus on textual anaysis and written response. In the younger grades, I work on reading strategies, book choice and good reader habits.

I am an experienced high school and middle school English teacher with a MA from Teachers College, Columbia University. I help students catch up, stay on track and become independent students.
All students need support at one time or another.
A student may need a steady hand through a tough assignment, another set of eyes on an essay, a new set of strategies to study for a test, a system to stay organized throughout the school year, or help during a particular time of struggle. Whether a quick fix or a long term guiding hand, tutoring can help.
